Sometimes in life certain incidents take place that make you wonder if it really occured or were you actually dreaming. I remember when I was a college student in kolkata I used to visit home, which then was in Kharagpur, once every month. On that particular day, I don't remember the date or month as that incident took place almost 12years back, I was a bit down. A personal tragedy had occured and I was suffering tremendously. A friend of mine went to see me off at the Howrah station and as the train started to move I felt very lonely and tears welled up in my eyes. As I turned my eyes from the window after the train took its speed, I saw a young boy of about my age, sitting opposite to me looking at me and smiling. At first I found it very strange as he was a stranger to me and secondly he saw me sobbing and was smiling. Then the boy started talking to me. I learned his name was RAHUL and he was a student of Calcutta Art College. He had a very soothing atmosphere around him which helped me to relax. He did most of the talking throughout the journey and the 3hrs train journey didn't seem too long that day. At last my destination came and I got down. That day I didn't take his address or phone no. nor did he asked mine. I didn't meet Rahul after that day but I am really grateful to him till date as he helped me to forget my sorrow through his conversation for atleast 3hrs. He never asked me what was I upset about and maybe that made me feel so comfortable with him. Even today I think him to be a very good friend of mine and if only I could meet him once I would want to say him...THANK YOU. I don't know if he remembers that day or that young, timid, confused, shy, sad girl anymore....I don't think he does....but I remember him vivdly till date. There are times when I wonder if I really took that journey?? If I really met and talked with a stranger non-stop for 3hrs?? Or if it was an illusion?? Truth is sometimes really stranger than fiction!!! In life certain incidents take place that make you wonder if it really took place.
